The general board is set up to talk about anything and everything to do with American Pit Bull Terriers that doesn't have a specific category. I'm sure this is the board that will end up with the most threads.

Crew: I am very interested to find out what the reason could be. I have never heard of this before. Could it be that he is just ready for them to leave?
Poor little guys. No one wants to smell like pee. hehe
I guess boys really aren't as maternal as girls.

hehehe your telling me, he is really good and patient with them when they are out, he will even let them bite and suck on him, and when he looses patience he just gets up and growls, its kinda funny to watch him run away from them all when he is done, but i gotta find this out its got me stumped...lol

I'm not sure, I think its a dominance thing or something related to that. My friend had a pretty firey male, (also happened to be game) but he was pretty dog aggressive and would never back down. Anyway he would just play with pups and tolerate anything from them, he also wouldn't hurt the little dogs because apparently he "knew better" he would just walk up to them pee on them and then kick some dirt back on them. Pretty wild site, he was really badly aggressive like my female but wouldn't ever touch these dogs, just do that to them. Don't know the answer 100% but it could be dominance related.

Sounds very much like a dominance thing or a posession thing... territory type deal... Could be either one really... I'm thinking the latter though since he's so laid back with them already.

the only thing with that is that even though he has "turned on" so to speak, he is still not a domineering dog, he can be around other dogs of all sizes even males until they try something with him then its all over. he does mark, and i was thinking maybe he is marking them, i know that wolves will mark the lower members of the pack as theirs, and i thought maybe thats what he is doing, sort of initiating them into the pack.

Yeah maybe its not so much a dominance thing as it is territorial or something like that. This male turned on at 3 months, but wasn't very dominant just dog aggressive to other large male dogs. He was ok with females and pups and urinated on the few tiny dogs she had. So maybe its something like that. He knew better then to attack the helpless things. She said it was like his way of being spiteful because he hated the little devils who would yap at him, so he just walked up and showed them what for. Maybe it has to do with rank and a territorial sense. I'd be upset if it were my pups, poor little pups, its not the worse thing in the world but would be aggrivating.

Hi all. I have a male, neutered now, that does the same thing. He will pee on everything. Pups, adult dogs, you name it. We spoke to a trainer, who said it was a dominance thing, & he was trying to get his scent on everything he could, so all the other dogs around, would know he was the dominant male. Not all males do this, but some do..... It is soooo annoying though. Having to bathe the dogs everytime they get near him!

Hey guys! Nice board thanx for the invite. My boyfriend peed on one of my puppies once, but I don't think it was a dominance thing. He said the pup ran under the stream, wrong place at the wrong time I guess! The worst thing was that he didn't tell me, and when he came back in with the puppy, I was picking her up and hugging her. Then i realized that she was wet. "Why is the puppy wet?!" I said, he just got a silly grin and said "I didn't see her." I made him give her a bath and had to go take a shower. Guys and dogs, I mean Jeeez!

Hey thanks for the invite! ;D My moms Great Danes stayed the weekend at my house and Rufus peed on 2 of my girls and anywhere he smelled them. I was ready to kill that boy before the weekend was over. I dont know what his deal was he has never done it before.
